As the popularity of its heavy duty vehicles continues to spread in Nigeria through efforts of its franchise company, Transit Support Services Ltd (TSS) and as well good patronage from Nigeria, the company decided to set up its assembly plant in Enugu, Nigeria.
However, after Dangote Group bought about 800 trucks from the shacman assembly plant in Enugu, the company’s General Manager of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Import & Export Co. Ltd, manufacturer of Shacman heavy and medium duty vehicles and Mr. Tian Chao arrived Nigeria, meeting some major customers like Dangote as they plan to build a multi-billion Naira complete knock down (CKD) assembly plant in collaboration with TSS.
Both Shacman and TSS believes that a CKD plant assembling the vehicles locally will contribute to the development of the country’s automobile sector and encourage transfer of technology from China to Nigeria.
